A test of Faith

So weekend just ended, yet another uncertain week to face. Yea quite a lot of times I find myself dry and uninspired for the past few days now. Been messin' up alot of times, ticking off people and just find that I couldn't be bothered by all that. Challenges certainly come at the wrong time and place sometimes. So once again, I call this a "slap on the face" experience.

"You live you learn, you love you learn, you cry you learn, you lose you learn, you bleed you learn, you scream you learn." - Alanis Morisette

Yea.. I get that a lot of times. I tend to injure myself severely before I even realize what a stupid mess It would've been if I didn't have to get myself caught up. I get along pretty well with pain even though it kills but I just don't understand why I keep getting myself emotionally screwed up when I have the choice not to. Yea that's pretty much me. You'd prolly think, "Dude, just get a life and do something about it" haha... working on it!

Working on it?!? sure! It's easier said than done. Sigh* Few days ago, we were asked about what were some of the challenges we faced during the past weeks. Got me thinking, and it all summed up to FAITH. Everything I struggled with dealt with it. Patience, shaking off bad-habits, trust and so on. It certainly got me crawling back and forth and I'm just sick and tired of falling into the same pit over and over again. Facing the same mistakes, doing the same "kickin-butt" routine and what not.

Turned out, I was over analyzing FAITH. A Pastor at a Sunday church service once said, "You can't analyze faith, only the Holy Spirit has its way in building that lil' faith in you. A small-tinny-itsy-bitsy-teeny-weeny faith can't move a big mountain on its own, but we can start moving a tiny pebble instead. Start small and end somewhere NOT Start big and end nowhere."

Takes a lot of faith to let God be God. Meaning, to let Him be at the steering wheel and to trust Him completely. Doesn't matter where He'll take me or how far it takes to get there, the Lord sure knows where He's going and I am desperate to find out.

Going back, letting go of the strongholds I've got Isn't always easy and I gotta hand it to ya, It's darn PAINFUL. Especially when that one thing you've got in your hands is too precious but ain't just right at this present time - God's will. Faith, faith and faith is all it takes...

Arithmetic

I've been staring at the sky tonight
Marvelling and passing time
Wondering what to do with daylight
Until I can make you mine
You are the one I want, you are the one I want

I've been thinking of changing my mind
It never stays the same for long
But of all the things I know for sure
You're the only certain one
You are the one I want, you are the one I want

I've been counting up all my wrongs
One sorry for each star
See I'd apologise my way to you
If the heavens stretched that far
You are the one I want, you are the one I want

[Chorus]
I won't find what I am looking for
If I only "see" by keeping score
'Cos I know now you are so much more than arithmetic

'Cos if I add, if I subtract
If I give it all, try to take some back
I've forgotten the freedom that comes from the fact
That you are the sum
So you are the one
I want

When the years are showing on my face
And my strongest days are gone
When my heart and flesh depart this place
From a life that sung your song

You'll still be the one I want

You'll still be the one I want

You'll still be the one I want

You'll still be the one I want

PS: Lord, this song I dedicate to you for it reflects so much of what's in my heart right at this very moment. You're the only one I want, need and what my heart desires for. Take me, shape me and use me, my heart belongs to you Oh God! Thank You...

Understanding the Game

Yesterday, the YDM girls team had a friendly match with the SAS girls team at St. Andrew's school court. Basically, I didn't know how I got into the team but I thank God for the opportunity. I have never been involved in any REAL basketball game per-say and I'm just one who plays "for fun!" I didn't really understood the game and all I ever enjoyed was shooting hoops and running around the court like a monkey on a lose. Haha...Sad but true! Ask some of my girl mates and you'll find out that I'm one of those who screams in the middle of the game while running around with the ball. =P

During my high school years, I've always wanted to join the school team but because during my time the school was prioritizing on the local students to join tournaments and therefore didn't get the chance to actually train and get involved with any kinda game. I was labeled as the "Prima-Ballerina" and my P.E. teacher didn't take my interest in the game seriously. =( It just blew up my self-esteem.

I'm one of of those who get discouraged easily when looked down on. So during that time I didn't get into the team I took a 360 degrees turn away from basketball and just went on with something I was better at, and that was Dancing!

But all that just about changed when I got involved with the YDM team (thats about 7 years after). It taught me that you don't have to be the best to be a part of the team and playing Isn't always about competition but about loving the game with humility on the court. It was a challenge I had to face right after being rejected ones. But I knew that I still had the passion for the game and didn't wanna let the past bring me down.

We were given training by some of the guys at YDM and it was great! I never actually thought I'd get to the level of playing a real basketball game and it felt good. It boost up my confidence and this time, there were less screaming on the court. HAHAHA =P Thanx to my bro too that he gave me encouragement to step up to the game and even lending me some of his basketball shorts which were too big on me but what the heck! =P hahaha....

Looking at the basketball court diagram, I never actually understood what every single position meant nor was I actually aware of where each would stand. Thanx to Ben, my bro, T, Wes,Jack and Lorene who helped out at the training. =) haha... This time, we know!!! Takes alota practice...

1. Point Guard
2. Shooting Guard
3. Small forward

4. Power forward

5. Centre

Yesterday's friendly match was my first ever challenge. The SAS girls were pretty intimidating and BIG! =P hahaha... Most of us in the YDM team were beginners and therefore it felt like a wild stampede on the court against the bigger girls. HAHA =P But we did our best and we played for the love of the game. This was a lesson to learn from and I was inspired by some of the girls who can play and was encouraged by those who can't play. Teamwork was all it takes and having Christ in the team was just everything the team needed. And I thank God for everything! Though we may have loss the game but still we are winners in Christ! =)

P.S. Thanx for the support kuya Stephen!!!
